brad's background

Education

  • Columbia University, B.A. Psychology, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa
  • Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, J.D., cum laude, law review
  • The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, MBA, Finance and Economics

Recent Experience

  • Represent over 40 StubHub victims and have recovered over $210,000 for my StubHub clients to date
  • Advocate for SEC whistleblower who reported fraudulent representations and omissions within the financial statements, earnings calls, and presentations of a Fortune 100 company that was previously penalized by the SEC and ordered to cease and desist committing the same misconduct
  • Represent large group of consumers in individual and mass arbitration and group-settlement negotiations against major telecommunications company that has already admitted liability and reserved $350 million for settlements
  • Where an IRA custodian either lost or delayed an account holder’s three consecutive wire and ACH transfers out of the IRA, filed actions in consumer arbitration and federal district court that ultimately led to the arbitration agreement being found unconscionable and unenforceable and my client receiving a settlement of approximately $200,000 when actual damages were only $500
  • Reached handsome settlement for whistleblower-engineer who was retaliated against and ultimately terminated by a $1 billion publicly-traded company after exposing major misconduct by several senior managers
  • Achieved significant settlement prior to filing suit against a major pharmacy that misfilled (and subsequently refilled two more times) a brand-only benign rosacea prescription with a generic, black-box labeled antifungal, causing damage to the client’s liver
  • Won district court jury trial for the return of a tenant’s security deposit, refund of improper deductions, and attorney fees against residential landlords who sneakily tried to condition only a partial return of the security deposit on “payment in full, accord and satisfaction”

Recent Investments

As a litigation-finance investor, contribute capital and litigation expertise to equity, non-recourse private investments in breach-of-contract, patent infringement, SEC whistleblower, deceptive trade practices, fraud, consumer finance, and other cases

Past Experience

It was the honor of my career to serve the State of Texas as a trial and appellate prosecutor, largely in the family-violence courts.  I participated in over 50 jury trials, over 30 appeals, and five oral argument sessions.
